6 DAYS MOUNT KENYA TREKKING CHOGORIA ROUTE

After, breakfast the driver will pick you up from the hotel at around 6:30am and drive along the central highlands towards Nanyuki. You will have a stopover at the equator for photos and stretching before proceeding to Simba lodge and arriving in time for lunch. This will give you enough time to prepare for the long trekking adventure and also meeting new people there for the same. You may also have a chance to tour the Nanyuki town that lies on the foot of Mount Kenya. You will have your Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

After breakfast you will proceed to the Sirimon gate where your journey begins. You will trek for 9km through the bamboo forest and rosewoods to Old Moses hut for dinner and overnight

After breakfast, you will go further up to the ship ton huts that are 4200m away and take a walk through the Ontulili, Liki and Mackinder valley being the broadest valley in the mountain. You will enjoy the serene view created by these valleys and also stopover briefly for picnic lunch before proceeding to the huts. You will arrive later during the day for dinner and overnight.

On this day you will spend the day at the huts and later ascend to the Hausberg col for familiarization. This is because the higher you go the attitudes keeps on changing. You will later return back to the ship ton huts for dinner and overnight.

You will wake up very early in the morning at 2:30am and after grabbing a cup of coffee or tea you will proceed straight to the lenana point arriving there at 5:30am for sunrise on a cloud free day and see Kilimanjaro as well. You will have a chance to take pictures. Go down further to Mintos for breakfast and later down to Mount Kenya lodge Banda’s for dinner and overnight.
